IFA 2005: Pana's SD video camera

Another world record claim – this time from Panasonic for its new SD (Secure Digital) camcorder, the SDR-S100. Apparently the ‘world’s smallest and lightest MPEG2 recording SD video camera’ (surely not a particularly sizeable category in the Guinness Book of Records), it records in MPEG2 – the same codec that DVD cameras use – rather than MPEG4. A 2Gb SD card is provided as standard for capturing video. Key features include 2.8inch LCD screen, Leica Dicomar lens and 3.1 megapixel still image function. It measures 49.9 x 96.7 x 80 mm and tips the scales at just 243g (not including battery). Looks nice too.
