GE beer chiller – a beer fridge for the living room
Another item shamelessly promoted via the World Cup, this time for those of you who don’t see yourself moving all that far from the armchair and like the idea of converting part of the living room into an off licence.
The GE Beer Fridge is exactly what it says – a portable cooling system for a large stock of beer. It holds around 80 cans of beer, undoubtedly enough for you and your mates for 90 minutes. And for those with a hankering for something a little more genteel (or if the beer runs out), there’s room for 12 bottles of wine.
You can set the temperature to a precise point and the manufacturers mention that once the World Cup is over, it can be a "useful bar fridge" should you wish to live a 70s-styled existence. At £630, that’s a very expensive bar gadget.
