Logitech has announced two new webcams for notebook owners – the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks and the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks.

Both feature Logitech’s enhanced RightSound technology with noise suppression and improved sound quality, along with RightLight technology for sharper images, even in poor light. Both webcams work with the most popular video messaging applications, including Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and AIM.

The QuickCam Deluxe has a glass (as opposed to plastic) lens with a 1.3 megapixel sensor. A glass lens means better image clarity and colour sharpness. A button on the top allows you to take photos, an adjustable, spring-tension clip guarantees a perfect fit and if you are using Vista, it’s plug-and-play. The cheaper QuickCam also features the photo button and Vista compatibility, but has a lesser lens.

Expected in Europe from the beginning in April, the QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks webcam will retail for £39.99, while the standard QuickCam will sell for £29.99.
