Following on from the launch of Toshiba’s premium HD-XE1 HD DVD player comes the HD-EP10, which is a step-up from the company’s entry-level HD-E1, offering full HD (1080p) output.

As well as the 1080p output from suitable discs, it also offers upscaling of standard DVD discs to 720p, 1080i and 1080p and is compatible with disc formats including HD DVD, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-ROM, DVD-RW and CD. Audio options are Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS HD.

According to Olivier Van Wynendaele, Deputy General Manager, HD DVD at Toshiba in the UK: “Toshiba’s HD-E1 and HD-XE1 set benchmarks in high definition home entertainment, both in terms of performance and value for money and the HD-EP10 raises the bar yet again. We want consumers to experience the highest HD resolution currently available at a price that’s right for the market – and that’s exactly what the HD-EP10 achieves.”

You can pick one up for 699 Euros (around £478).
