Clarion has ditched the CD, offering the FB278RBT without any moving parts.

What you do get is Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP & AVRCP), Bluetooth Handsfree calling(HFP & HSP) , MP3 playback via SD card, with a slot behind the flip-down control panel, 18 FM station presets via an RDS-EON tuner, 2-channel audio pre-out and 4 x 50 watts of amplification.

There’s also a distinctive design, with each of the four, white acrylic arched buttons either side of the central rotary volume control designed to look like fins – the ‘Metal Shark’ look apparently. You can buy one from Clarion dealers for £149.
