Colombo Two – possibly the most stylish home telephone on the market
While the look, feel and inner working of the mobile phone improve on an almost weekly basis, the humble home phone hasn’t changed a great deal since around 1988. Until now that is.
This is the Colombo Two. Nothing to do with a mac-wearing detective, it’s actually named after the legendary Italian designer, who made a name for himself creating objects best suited to the set of Space 1999. And this phone is a tribute to him by the ChauhanStudio.
It’s all about the looks, with a slightly angled shape, clear digital screen, a keyboard almost flush to the actual handset and a horizontal stand/case. But best of all, it;s actually quite cheap to buy – just £40 when it goes on sale at high street retailer, including John Lewis, from March.
