Today is International Delete Your MySpace Account Day – who's in?
Finally, a reason to log into MySpace! It appears that I’m not the only one who’s fed up with the constant spam friend requests, as today is the first International Delete Your MySpace Account Day.
Blogger Simon Owens came up with the initiative, cataloguing 10 reasons why he was going to delete his profile today. These include the spam friend requests, ‘error’ messages and pages, women being harassed by male users, the loud and irritating music on people’s pages, banner ads, and err…the fact that so many paedophiles and rapists in the news are described as being active on the site.
So who’s with me? I plan on deleting mine as soon as I publish this post, and for those who’ve made the move to Facebook, what role does MySpace play in our lives now? True, not all your friends have migrated to the ‘book, but this would be a good opportunity for them to sign up. Or perhaps delete them from your lives, too…
