Facebook Messenger finally comes to iPad
Yesterday afternoon without much fanfare Facebook snuck out an update to its Facebook Messenger app, which finally brings the chat client to iPad.
The Messenger client, which has proved controversial, has been available on iPhone for some time now – in fact, recently Facebook started insisting that it be used for messaging instead of the Facebook app proper. Presumably now it is only a matter of time until the same applies to iPad – though at the time of writing messaging still works fine in the iPad Facebook.
The app contains all of the features you might expect – including a wide selection of emoticons and even the ability to send and receive video. If you live in a country where Facebook are providing free calls, you can make those through the app too.
