Virgin Media suffers nationwide DNS outage… just days after BT (fuelling my made-up conspiracy theory)
It is not a good time to be a UK broadband customer. Last night Virgin Media suffered a nationwide DNS outage – rendering most of the web inaccessible for its customers.
Loving this "month-long service disruption" (customer service quote) from @virginmedia it's cool I was barely using the internet anyway

The outage comes only days after BT customers suffered problems for an agonising three hours on Saturday morning.
Now here’s the weird thing: I’m a BT user and on Saturday I jokingly tweeted this conspiracy theory…
Conspiracy theory: BT’s DNS outage is the government testing taking down the internet for next time there is a riot/etc.

Once can be an accident… but twice in one week? Yeah, probably still an accident but let it be known the conspiracy theory started here.
