Entry-level LG phones to get the G3 treatment
LG has announced plans to introduce the LG G3 user interface to its other phones, following the critical success of the flagship handset.
The plan is to roll out the interface to other, more entry level and mid-range handsets.
“With the basic principles of the G3’s UX features rooted in making complex technologies simple and convenient, our goal was to provide consumers with a user experience they genuinely need and want,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Standardising these features across our entry- and mid-tier mobile products is just a natural extension of our desire to make every LG device feel premium and unique.”
Apparently this includes the “Touch & Shoot” camera, which lets users take a photo by hitting anywhere on the screen, and the ability to trigger photos by opening and closing your hand in front of the camera lens. LG’s “Smart Keyboard” will also be further rolled out.
Unfortunately we don’t know exactly what handsets will receive the upgrade or when, but if you’ve got an LG now’s the time to start wishing.
We reviewed the LG G3 quite recently – we rather liked it.
