Zune heading to the UK? I wouldn't hold your breath…
The Microsoft Zune – released in the US in 2006, released in Europe in…well, that’s anyone’s guess. But judging by the latest rumour, it’s unlikely to be before 2009.
According to French newspaper Les Echos, the Zune will not hit the European market until the third-generation model has been released. That’s unlikely to be for at least 10 months and beyond the 2008 deadline set by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
So maybe Microsoft can give us an official date or confirmation of delay? Well, The Register called them and were told: “Microsoft does not comment on rumour or speculation”. So that’s that cleared up then.
