Tosh turbocharges wireless systems

Toshiba’s wireless R&D labs, based in Bristol, has come up with a low cost 100 Mbps WLAN – and apparently has even faster systems on the cards. It claims that the first 1Gbps wireless systems for homes and businesses is just three years away. Just think how many times faster that is than 802.11g’s 54mbps. Tosh reckons you’ll be able to wirelessly connect every electronic device in your home to communicate with each other at light speed. Perhaps more importantly it is fast enough for wireless video servers to be sending large files (MPEG2) to screens all over you home. Looking forward to it!
