BT adds more broadband packages
Following its announcement earlier this week about a no-frills 512Kbps broadband service for £19.99 per month (for up to 1Gb of data), BT has unveiled a whole raft of new broadband packages aimed at different types of users.
The new services, which form the company’s latest broadband retail strategy, include flexible bandwidth, BT Rich Media, BT Communicator with Yahoo! Messenger and BT Remote Management System packages. It is hoped they will help the company achieve its target of five million connections by 2006 – although they are sure to confuse many people who have only just got their head around broadband.
At a press conference held at the BT tower, Pierre Danon, chief executive of BT retail said: “These new products and services provide broadband that is flexible and powerful enough to meet the customer’s every need. They demonstrate clearly that there is far more to broadband than speed, as there has to be if we are to realise mass-adoption far beyond the current two million mark.”
