Hit's £3000 42inch plasma
Remember when a decent plasma would have set you back about £10K? It wasn’t that long ago. Thankfully they’re now considerably cheaper. Hitachi has just announced a new third generation model, the 42PD5200, which is set to retail for under £3K.
A 42inch model with a built-in TV tuner box, the new ‘Platara Purist’ model also features the company’s Intelligent Image and Brightview technologies. Contrast is rated at 1000:1. Another model in Hitachi’s latest line-up is the Platara Purist Plus. A plasma with multi-media AVC box for games console and Digibox connection, it is available in 32inch and 42inch versions.
Also available is the Platara Pro. Designed for the home entertainment enthusiast who wants to configure and build their home entertainment system, it comprises high performance plasma monitor with onboard video facilities. All models wil be available in April
