Sharp LCDs go up market

Sharp is repositioning its LCD TV line-up to take on companies like Loewe – claims ERT – with the launch of a new range of high-end Aquos Titanium models.
Set to hit the market in the summer, the new screens will be available in 32, 37 and 45in variants. All are true High Definition (1080 line resolution) units with top end models featuring analogue and digital terrestrial TV tuners as standard, memory card slots for displaying images direct from a digicam and Sharp’s 1 bit amplifier technology.
The flagship 45in model is expected to retail for between £7500 and £800. Sharp plans to launch around 30 LCD models this summer, putting in another nail in the coffin for conventional CRT TV technology.
