Fifty years to the day that Roger Bannister astounded the world by running the first ever four-minute mile another Brit has been proclaimed as the fastest in the world.

According to the Daily Mirror, text mad James Trusler is the world’s fastest text messenger after he took just 1min 7secs to key “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human,” in to his mobi.

James, who works as an engineer for Vodafone and currently lives in Australia attributes his speed to his constant texting claiming he sends up to 4,000 messages a month – more than 130 a day.

The Guinness World Records book has now recognised his feat, in which he beat his previous best by 59 seconds.

Not surprisingly James prefers to send messages than talk to people. “I text all the time,” he said. “I text colleagues whenever I have a question. I even book haircuts by text.

“If you call someone you’re likely to get stuck on the phone for a while. Texting is easier, faster and more flexible.”

You can find out how James manages to text so quickly on his website

  • You say “Records book has now recognised his feat, in which he beat his previous best by 59 seconds.

Surely some mistake? The would mean that he has cut his time by almost half?? Well maybe.
