The dark horse of the handheld games market is finally available over the counter in the US. The Zodiac, a Palm PDA with added 3D graphics power, shoulder buttons and Bluetooth wireless capabilities is actually a really nice piece of kit – powerful for running games, works well as a PDA too. But it’s been hampered by having virtually no marketing clout and sporadic game support (although it has got Doom II, SpyHunter and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4). It has been available online for some time, but is now going into 230-odd CompUSA stores. Launch date for the UK is still 2004.
