GPS on your phone

GPS on smartphones has been around for a while now, but bog standard mobile phones have lagged behind in the mapping stakes. But it seems that the humble mobile has at last found its way, with a satellite navigation system that will work with Java handsets. The people at Map&Guide and Falk Marco Polo Interactive are at CeBIT this week to tell everyone about their Falk Activepilot service. The off-board navigation service can be downloaded to your mobile like a Java game and has been designed to provide directions to motorists and pedistrians. Register the service and a text message will arrive allowing you to download the software. The GPS receiver comes included in the starter pack, leaving you good to go pretty much straight away.
