The Siemens people did say that they’d be launching a whole load of new products at CeBIT this year. And sure enough, here they are. First up, the SXG75 is a 3G handset – the company’s first – which finally puts them in line with the other main phone manufacturers in the UK. It comes with a 2-megapixel digital camera, MP3 player, video calling and a built-in GPS navigation system. Finally, Siemens has grasped the concept of high resolution screens as well, sticking a 256K colour display onto this candybar handset. Also on board is an FM radio, MP3 player or video player and Bluetooth. The built-in GPS module is a pretty unique feature, providing directions and details of local features, such as restaurants and tourist sights. There’s also a built-in translator for English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. 128MB of internal memory, 64MB of which is yours to play with, can be expanded via the mini MMC slot So, having waiting all this time, Siemens has finally come out with handset jam packed with features. And, if you’re not averse to slightly stark, hard edged design, the pic suggests it’s a pretty good looking phone as well.
