Coppola "disapproves" of Godfather game

He hasn’t said Electronic Arts will be "sleeping with the fishes" (via sister blog Games Digest), but it has emerged that Francis Ford Coppola, director of The Godfather trilogy, is less than happy with the game of the movies. In an interview on US TV, Coppola said that he had not been told anything about the game in advance and that "they never asked me if I thought it was a good idea". Clearly he doesn’t. Commenting on a preview version of the game, Coppola said "They use the characters everyone knows, and they hire those actors to be there, and only to introduce minor characters. And then for the next hour they shoot and kill each other. I had absolutely nothing to do with the game and I disapprove. I think it’s a misuse of film."
