Epson's EMP-732 compact 3LCD projector
Travelling around with a projector is cumbersome but often necessary. To account for this Epson has added the EMP-732 project to its portable LCD range. The EMP-732 has a compact design that weighs a mere 1.7kg and is aimed at those on a lower budget. This projector can provide 2000 ANSI lumens, XGA resolution and a 400:1 contrast ratio. There is also an economy mode that reduces the ANSI to 1500, which can extend the lamp-life to 3000 hours.
Warm up and cool down times have been reduced to match demands of time-pressed consumers to a meagre 7 second warm up and it only requires 20 to cool down again It is also capable of producing a 60" screen from only 2m distant, which will prove invaluable to anyone struggling with larger models in cramped conditions. An automatic vertical keystone correction feature (+/- 30%) permits easy set up and operation.
3LCD technology ensures that the image is sharp and clear; it also reduces colour-bleed and flicker effects. This projector offers a practical choice to anyone required to make regular presentations in less than perfect conditions and will facilitate use of presentation software. However anyone thinking that it would be great for console gaming might be put off by the £1499 ex vat price tag.
