Disc drive manufacturer Seagate has revealed the next
step in improving the capacity of notebook systems. Acknowledging that everyone wants the
size and portability of a notebook machine without sacrificing the power of a
desktop, Seagate has expanded its range of Momentus hard drives with both a
120GB disc, which is capable of 5,400 rpm and a 100GB disc capable of the swift 7,200 rpm. More importantly, the Momentus range is aimed at improving power
efficiency, ensuring that these huge capacity devices don’t suck the battery dry
too quickly.
