Skype goes video
Share
Get your webcams at the ready because free internet telephony company Skype has made good on its promise to incorporate video calling to its increasingly popular service. Actually it isn’t really Skype that’s done it, its in fact another company, Dialcom, who has released a plug-in called Spontania Video4skype. Unfortunately this means that it’s not quite as simple as simply selecting a Video tab on Skype. No, you’ll need to open up the Spontania program instead but it works just like Skype so it’s not a massive inconvenience. Plus the fact that it’s a plug-in means that it will probably become increasingly available to other VOIP software which will add some more healthy competition in future.
