Goodbye hPod

I was cynical, maybe even derogatory. Laughs were had at HP’s ridiculous iPod Tattoo concept and now suddenly I feel
a little guilty. Apparently so many people greeted HP’s effort to hop on the
iPod bandwagon with such indifference that now the company has decided to pull
the idea entirely. Having only successfully accounted for 5% of iPod sales, the
HP spokesman graciously explained “the iPod doesn’t fit in with our digital
entertainment strategy”. HP will stop selling iPods entirely in September
although it has promised to continue featuring iTunes in its desktop and
notebook packages and is obliged to support any existing warranty agreements
for hPods sold.
