Telewest announces 2Meg broadband for £17.99

Clearly Telewest doesn’t want to be left behind in the race for faster broadband. Earlier this week NTL announced it was launching 10Mbps broadband in 2006. Now Telewest is, somewhat predictably, upping its speeds (though not to 10 Meg yet). Speed upgrades will be rolled out from next month on a region by region basis and, apparently, at no extra cost to the user – which is good news all round. Its entry level service will now be 2Mbps for the same price of £17.99 per month. Upstream speeds will also be increased to 256Kbps for the 2Mb service and to 384Kb for the complete and elite packages.
