CES 2006: JVC offers 1080p HDTVs
Share
JVC is the latest manufacturer to join the growing brand of TV companies offering flat screen sets that have a resolution of 1080p – the highest form of High Definition. Its pair of HD LCD sets – the 40inch LT-40FN67 and 46inch LT-46FN97 – both feature a 1920x1080p native resolution panel. The sets also incorporate JVC’s DISTR technology which can upscale any video source to 1080p.
There isn’t a great deal of 1080p footage around at the moment as it isn’t favoured by broadcaster, however both future games consoles and Blu-ray and HD DVD players are capable of outputting video in the format. Both sets are due in the US in July. No news of European launches yet.
