At one point towards the end of last year, it seemed like a new sat nav launch was a daily occurence as we all went mapping mad in the car. That’s slowed down so far this year – but now we’re back on course with Mio updating their range with the A201 integrated GPS PDA.

Designed primarily as a navigation device, the Mio A201 with 320 x 240 pixel LCD touchscreen has a rotating GPS antenna, so you can navigate in both portrait and landscape mode. Reception is boosted by the latest 20-channel SirfStar III GPS chipset, which enhances GPS signal reception compared to the previous generation 12-channel receivers. It also comes with the latest version of the Mio Map software, which, amongst all the usual roads and points of interest, will indicate on screen the speed limit in force for the road you are using. And of course it’s also a Bluetooth-enabled PDA using the Windows Mobile suite of software.

The Mio A201 will cost around £239, including power adapter, car charger, USB synch cable, car mount and carry case.
