VoToL PK-MV300 – media player or hip flask?
If this was a game of guess the object, my bet is you would go for expensive perfume bottle or gentleman’s hip flask. Wrong no both counts – this is NEC’s latest 30GB music and movie player, the VoToL PK-MV300.
The VoToL features a 2.7in, 320 x 240, 65,536-colour display with the main control – or stopper – on the top. It can handle MPEG 2, MPEG 4 and WMV 9 videos, and MP3, AAC, Ogg, WAV and WMA DRM audio. It also carries an SD card slot so you can copy across digital photos onto the VoToL’s hard drive, which will display JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP images, along with text files. But the really strange aspect of the player is the liquid interface that represents the player’s volume , battery charge and other settings with a water visual accompanied by sounds.
You’ll certainly stand out from the crowd with a VoToL – yours for ¥39,900 (£194) and launched in Japan next month.
