Sony introduces discounted PSP
Somewhat overshadowed by the news of the PlayStation 3’s delay is the news that Sony’s portable console – the PSP – will be available at a discounted price of £149 from March 22nd as part of a Basic Pack. Included in the pack will be the console, an AC adapter and a battery pack.
Sony also announced a firmware update, which will allow support for Macromedia Flash for the first time and extend RSS support, enabling users to save and playback internet radio and other entertainment content. In addition, new accessories have been announced in the form of a camera and GPS receiver. So expect video chat and PSPs on dashboards this autumn.
And there will also be a download service, with Sony set to dig up revive popular PlayStation titles from the past to play on the PSP – no date or concrete details on this as yet. More as we have it.
