Medion’s reputation is definitely growing. Once known only for the desktop PCs it sold through Aldi, it’s now forging a name for solid products at budget prices. We recently featured their sat nav system for under £300 and now they’ve unveiled the MAM 2080 notebook, which retails for less than £400.

The Medion MAM 2080 notebook is amongst the first to feature the new VIA C7-M processor, and also features a 15″ TFT screen, dual layer DVD re-writer, 40GB hard drive, 256MB  DDR-RAM, 4 USB ports and, LAN 10/100 and 56K modem. The machine comes bundled with Microsoft XP Home Edition, Medion’s Home Cinema Suite, NERO Burning ROM 6 and NERO Recode 2-SE.

Certainly not the highest spec on the high street, but if you just want a solid and affordable machine for your computing basics, it’s probably worth a look when it goes on sale from April 10th for £399.99, initially just at Woolworths.
