New features for Skype software

For those of you who take advantage of cheap/free calls via Skype, it might be worth downloading the latest software, Skype 2.5, which offers new features and improved functionality.

New features include Easy Dialing, which means dropdown menus for country codes, in-built Skype Payments, so you can buy Skype credit, SkypeOut minutes and the newly-introduced ringtones, plus a free one-way SMS message service to any mobile phone number in the world.

There’s also improved functionality, specifically for contacts and conference calling. The latest version of Skype is available for download now.

I typed in my mobile number on skype and it said “This message cost’s 6 pence to send”. I assume it would be the same then for any mobile in the UK.
