The times certainly are a-changing. Once the voice of rebellion, Bob Dylan is now the friend of corporate America, teaming up with Apple`s iTunes Music Store to offer his fans (well, those with a computer) the chance to pre-order his new album through the retailer and get first crack at tickets for his forthcoming tour.

The album, appropriately titled Modern Times, is released in the US on August 29th. If you pre-order, you’ll receive a ticket presale code the following day, giving you a week-plus to jump the queue and geta ticket to see Mr Zimmerman live. Tickets will go on sale to non-Apple purchasers on September 9th.

In addition, the iTunes version of Modern Times will feature five bonus Dylan videos – ‘Cold Irons Bound’ (shot during the filming of ‘Masked & Anonymous’), ‘Blood in My Eyes,’ ‘Things Have Changed,’ ‘Love Sick’ (from the 1998 Grammys) and ‘Jokerman.’ And if that’s not enough, Apple has created the mammoth Dylan digital boxed set ‘The Collection,’ featuring every song from his studio albums plus 42 rarities and an exclusive digital booklet. The box will sell for $199 and will also be available from August 29th. It’s like vinyl never happened.
