Dip into old newspapers online with Google

Google has taken its first steps into providing news archives as it launches its News Archive Search.
Now Google already has a current news search, and very good it is too, but this one allows you to look back at old news some of which dates back to the early 19th century.
There’s currently only a few papers who have given over their content for free, including our Guardian, and Time magazine – others still want to charge for old news. Still, the library is sure to grow over time.
It does make me wonder how many staff Google has archiving newspapers and books.
