Alibris UK opens the world of indpendent bookstores and rare books
Alibris, a United States’ online bookstore specialising in both new and second-hand book sales, today opened up its UK online bookstore.
Alibris UK provides access to over 60 million new, out-of-print, rare, and second-hand books to both the UK and 16 European countries.
The site enables shoppers to order from thousands of independent booksellers based in their hometown, country, and overseas. Alibris has also reduced prices for UK and European shoppers by between thirty and fifty percent.
“Our UK booksellers have asked us for years for a UK web site that would to help them sell more books to UK customers,” said Brian Elliott, president of Alibris. “This approach also provides us with an English-language-based starting point for sales to customers throughout Europe.”
Good to see some more niche competition entering the UK market.
