Website of the Day: Reactable
I found myself fascinated by the Reactable site. Reactable is “a state-of-the-art multi-user electro-acoustic music instrument with a tabletop tangible user interface. Several simultaneous performers share complete control over the instrument by moving physical artefacts on the table surface and constructing different audio topologies in a kind of tangible modular synthesizer or graspable flow-controlled programming language.”
If that sounds confusing, then you’re better off watching a demo of it, like the one after the turn:
If you’re a musician – and probably if you’re not – and are into sound synthesis, or just really cool-looking gear that might’ve just come out of a movie – then explore the site and see what this amazing prototype can do.
Forget Jean-Michel Jarre and his laser light shows – this is über-cool.
