Lenovo announce new Thinkpad T60: lightest 15.4 inch widescreen notebook
Lenovo have announced their new Thinkpad T60, a 15.4 inch widescreen notebook that they say is the lightest machine of its size amongst the top five PC vendors, starting at a weight of 2.3kg.
It comes with an embedded WLAN card based on 802.11n technology (despite this still not being a ratified standard), Bluetooth, and Infrared. It comes loaded with Access Connections, a technology that helps users easily connect to the Net through their service provider as they switch from wired to wireless networks.
The machine claims up to 8 hours of battery life with a nine-cell battery, and its form starts at 1.1 inches thick. It comes equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and is ready for Vista. It comes with a choice of Intel integrated graphics or ATI discrete graphics capabilities.
It has an Active Protection System and spill-resistant keyboard, as well as Lenovo’s security tools including the Embedded Security System and an optional fingerprint reader.
Due out in mid 2007, prices to be confirmed.
