Security Guard Robot
Share
A new robot jointly developed by the Civil Aviation University of China and Tianjin YAAN Technology Electronics Co. Ltd. is aimed at preventing crime in public places, such as airports, warehouses and department stores. Looking like a car-cum-space-pod, it records all that it sees, and responds to suspected fires, altercations and other pre-set triggers. It can also wander freely, or be on a programmed track. (In case you wonder why I haven’t mentioned the name, Xinhua simply refers to it as Security Guard Robot. It must be sad when your parents don’t love you enough to name you in public.) [GT]
