PayPal to add extra protection to accounts

It seems like everyone you know has a PayPal account, but compared to online banking, the security can seem a little light. Which is probably why the eBay-owned company is testing additional RSA Security’s SecurID token as added protection for customers.

Currently in testing, the PayPal Security Key will be free to business accounts, but a $5 service fee will be charged to personal accounts. Add it your account and a randomised six-digit code in correspondence with your username and password will be required to access your account.

The system is currently in beta testing by PayPal employees, with an intention of it going public in the next few months.
