Sony updates Vaio PC range – 5 new models added
We’ve barely caught our breath after Christmas and already the new product launches are coming thick and fast. Today is Sony’s turn, with 5 updated Vaio PCs unveiled – 4 notebooks and a desktop – all of which should be in the stores by spring.
The updated Vaio C2-Series has been developed in collaboration with the Design Centre Europe, with a colour range developed to give each model “a special appeal to certain personality types”. The original five – timeless black, nomad grey, karma white, free spirit pink and natural green – have been joined by a sixth, rediscovery blue. All have colour-matched accessories and matching bags from leading designer Mandarina Duck.
The Vaio SZ4-Series is an ultra-portable with carbon fibre construction and one of the slimmest screens ever produced – which means a total weight of just 1.69kg. It’s also the only notebook in the world with two graphics chipsets, so you can opt for extended battery life or huge graphics power depending on what you need. The Vaio FE40-Series combines Intel Core 2 Duo processors and NVIDIA GeForce Go graphics, as well as featuring a large, dual lamp widescreen X-black LCD enhanced display. Which means it shoudl be good for movies and games, as well as the business end.
The Vaio N20-Series is more of a general purpose machine, but still features an X-black LCD 15.4-inch widescreen display and a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo and Core Duo processors. The final upgrade is Sony’s all-in-one PC-TV fusion, the Vaio LA2-Series, now with 2GB of memory as standard. It features a 19-inch super-high resolution widescreen display with X-black LCD enhancement and dual lamp illumination for a more lifelike image. There’s also a hybrid digital (DVB-T)/analogue TV tuner and a 300GB hard disk.
Prices to be confirmed nearer the spring launch.
