Sat-nav guided lorries being banned from Hampshire village

Whilst the RAC might think sat-nav drivers are safer, Hampshire County Council doesn’t share their experience – not for HGV drivers who’ve been following sat-nav instructions and carving up the village of Exton, near Winchester, anyway.
They responded to damaged properties and stuck vehicles by putting up the very obvious sign: “No wide vehicles. Do not follow sat nav. Very narrow lane.”
It’s the first anti-sat nav sign in the UK, apparently. The council has also contacted makers of satellite navigation software to ask them to take the ‘link road’ off their devices.
