You know those Seven League boots from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales? A Russian inventor has invented boots that come close. They look like pogo sticks, strap to your shins and work on the same principle as the air-cushioned basketball shoe. One test runner was clocked at 21.7 miles per hour in the boots. They do have their problems – a backfire while wearing these is a lot more dangerous than a backfire in your car. But in the future, this might be the new way to commute to work. [GT]
