Step over, hydrogen, there’s a new chemical superpower in town: compressed air. The MiniC.A.T Air Car runs on a combination of compressed air and fuel (such as gasoline, gas oil, bio diesel, gas, liquidized gas, ecological fuel, alcohol, etc), giving it a driving range of up to 2000km per charge. It generates zero pollution during in-city driving, and its highway pollution is substantively less than conventional vehicles. Over 14 years in the making, the MiniC.A.T. is now being developed by Tata Motors of India. A taxi version of the Air Car is also in the works. [GT]
