Official UK launch of PlayStation 3 at Virgin Megastore
Chances are you’ll have little chance of getting one unless you pre-order, but if you want to get involved in the official UK launch of the PlayStation 3, you’ll have to get down to the Virgin Megastore in London’s Oxford Street.
What this actually entails is pretty vague right now, but there is mention of “official PlayStation merchandise” and “incentives for the first customers to collect their PS3s from the store”.
“The PS3 is without a doubt one of the most anticipated console launches ever so it is very exciting to be able to offer our customers the complete Sony experience at launch,” said Senior Promotions and PR Manager, Stephen Lynn.
“We can’t go into too much detail in terms of what we have planned, as we are currently in a period of consultation with the authorities. Needless to say though, the experience and safety of our customers will come first and it will be an amazing launch.”
Apparently, Virgin is still taking PlayStation 3 pre-orders and “some stock” will be made available at the Oxford Street Megastore and selected other Megastores on the day.
