Sky Anytime on TV launches – for some Sky users

Sky has launched Anytime on TV, a service that offers a selection of the week’s programmes on-demand. From today, Anytime on TV is available to all Sky HD customers. Anyone with a Sky+ set-top-box will get it eventually, but not for a few weeks.

The service upgrade uses additional storage capacity on the box to automatically store selected programmes for viewing on-demand. You see, the boxes have partitioned drives, so your new storage appears by magic, offering up 5to 30 hours of additional content at any one time. After that, older shows are deleted as new ones get added. To access Sky Anytime on TV, just go to your TV guide and select the red button to access the dedicated Anytime on TV listings.

Stephen Van Rooyen, Sky’s Director of Product Management said: “Sky+ has already given millions of people freedom from their TV schedule, helping viewers to enjoy more of the TV they want to watch. Anytime on TV helps our customers get even more out of Sky+ by presenting them with highlights of the weeks’ programmes to watch on demand – shows that they might not otherwise have found and which they can then transfer to their Sky+ box to series link and watch every week.”
