Sony CDX-A360 – the in-car music system for women
No, I’m not being sexist, the Sony CDX-A360 is actually described by the company as the “CD tuner designed for women”.
Sony throws up the statistic that 44 per cent of car audio systems bought over the past six months were purchased by women, so not wishing to miss this opportunity, it has designed the CDX-A360 “with design input from female drivers”. This has produced a liquid silver front panel finish, “modish” graphics and uncluttered, easy-to-use controls.
But I imagine your average female motorist puts as much (if not more) emphasis on the actual specification. That includes playback of discs in MP3, WMA or ATRAC formats, track, artist and album titles on the front panel display, connectivity to your portable player, 4 x 50w channels of power,pre-amp output, optional external amplifier and sub-woofer and control of CD and radio functions via a small remote.
The Sony CDX-A360 will be available throughout Europe from April 2007. No price as yet.
