Bang & Olufsen Beovision 8 – the affordable B&O?
You are guaranteed two things with a new Bang & Olufsen TV – style and a high price point. That’s still the case with the Beovision 8, although that price point is a little nearer affordable than usual.
The 26-inch HD-ready TV retails for £1,800 – twice the price of other brand TVs – but they don’t carry the cool of B&O. What you get for your money is a 1366×768 pixel resolution, contrast ratio of 1200:1, a 6ms response time and brightness of 500cd/m2. Only one HDMI and no built-in digital TV tuner though. So you’ll have to look cool watching the traditional five channels (unless you have Sky or cable).
Sound is provided by a couple of two-inch midrange/tweeter drivers and a four-inch bass loudspeaker driver. And if you want to be a super-cool web geek, you can even use it as a monitor.
It’s available now. Note that the stand is an additional £200.
