Canon launches HR10 AVCHD DVD camcorder – HD straight to DVD

Canon is still pushing the DVD disc camcorder – but the HR10 does have something a little extra – it’s an AVCHD DVD device, offering straight-to-DVD shooting in 1080i HD, as well as standard definition.
The HR10 features Instant AF for precise auto focusing at fast speeds, Super Range Optical Imager Stabilizer (OIS) to reduce camera shake and a high quality 25p Cinema Mode – an easy way to get the look and feel of a traditional film.
Also included is a high quality HD video lens, Full HD CMOS video sensor, Bayer placement RGB filter, Canon’s DIGIC DV II processor, 2.7-inch Multiangle Vivid LCD screen and HDMI connectivity.
The HR10 camcorder will be available from the mid-August, 2007, price still to be confirmed.
