Map24 Mobile adds live traffic data
Map24 has added to its mobile suite of mapping and navigation – now offering live traffic data.
The package offers maps (including 3D maps), route planning and points of interest for mobile phones and PDAs. Latest traffics information shifts the software ever nearer a standalone sat nav device, offering news of congestion, roadworks, narrow lanes and other adverse conditions, all provided by ITIS Holdings plc, the leading traffic information provider in the UK.
“Having successfully introduced live traffic data to the Map24 Portal, we’ve now extended this to mobile devices giving people on the move the ability to check out useful traffic information such as snarl ups, accidents and planned or current road works,” said Chris Wallett, Managing Director of Mapsolute, the company which owns Map24. “Furthermore, we’ve now introduced the facility to dial points of interest that are on the map. So if you’re in a town or city and want to find out the availability of a table at a restaurant, you simply view the icon and dial the number that appears. If you’re a business person on the move, you can easily locate hotels, restaurants and stop over points.”
