Defuturo has launched the Ewedrive online backup service, offering a pay-as-you-go business model for secure storage.

Users can buy disk space from five pence per GB per week or pay on the more traditional model of unlimited storage from £1.90 per week. There are no file size limits or extra charges for data transfer or bandwidth usage. Additionally, all new Ewedrive users will be given 1GB of disk space free of charge.

Files can be transferred via drag ‘n’ drop and the system is compatible for Windows, Mac and Linux users. File transfers are also secured over 256-bit SSL. And if you do a spot of file sharing, you can download and save content directly to your storage space, streaming from that location.
