Meccano's Spyke spy robot available to pre-order

We first reported on Spyke in January when he was unveiled at CES. He’s a pint-sized robot with built-in Wi-Fi, a microphone and a video camera. The idea: he trundles around your home keeping an eye on things, and then feeds you live footage whenever you want to ~~spy on your family~~ check everything’s secure.

He also works with Skype for VoIP calls, and can play MP3 tunes too. Anyway, Spyke is now available to pre-order from gadget website Red5. The Meccano-branded bot is expected to be available in September, and will cost you £200. Who knows, if he wins our Robot World Cup, his value may go up before he even goes on sale.
